Εγώ ήθελα να κάνω μια αφελή ερώτηση : Η NASA συνεχίζει να χρησιμοποιεί το moonwatch στηριζόμενη στη δοκιμή που είχε κάνει πριν από 40 χρόνια , ή το υποβάλει και σε νέες συγκριτικές με άλλα σύγχρονα μοντέλα άλλων εταιρειών για να τσεκάρει την θέση του στο σημερινό ανταγωνισμό

Νομιζω οτι τωρα η NASA χρησιμοποιει το omega Χ33 ή κανω λαθος;

το ρολοι εκανε το τελευταιο τεστ το 78,αλλα φορεθηκε σε αποστολες εως τα τελη της δεκαετιας του 80 σιγουρα.απο την στιγμη που ειναι εγκεκριμενο για διαστημικα ταξιδια ,δεν ειναι απαραιτητο να τα επαναλαβει(τα τεστ).η αναφορα μου ,με την παραθεση των φωτογραφιων, εχει να κανει με το πως ακομα και σημερα εν ετει 2009 ,καποιος μπορει να το φορεσει αφοβα σε μια EVA

   Αν αρχίσεις τις μικροκλοπές στους πελάτες , μπορεί και να μαζέψεις τα φράγκα για το Ω !!!!

In recognition of the crucial role that its Speedmaster chronograph played on the Apollo 13 mission, OMEGA received the “Snoopy" Award in October 1970 - the highest honour awarded by NASA astronauts. The Speedmaster was present for yet another decisive moment in space history during the 1975 joint USSR-USA Apollo-Soyuz docking. The symbolic handshake in space at the height of the Cold War revealed that both crews were wearing the Speedmaster Chronograph

Although the Speedmaster is most famous for being the first watch worn on the moon, the most important contribution it made to the space program was probably during the ill fated 1970 Apollo 13 mission.
When the power failed on the mission, the on-board computers and timing devices were useless. The only way the crew could make vital timings - such as engine bursts - was via their wristwatches. Had the Speedmaster failed or been inaccurate then the outcome of that mission might have been very different.

As a recognition of the contribution of the Speedmaster to the safety of the mission and the astronauts, it received the NASA "Snoopy Award". ("Snoopy" was the nickname given to the Apollo 10 Lunar Module, officially "LM-4".)

Τα Snoopy Awards ξεκίνησαν να δίνονται το 1968 στους υπαλλήλους και τις εταιρείες που είχαν συμβόλαιο με την NASA για την προσφορά τους στην περιπέτεια του διαστήματος.

Το μοντέλο με τον Snoopy στο καντράν που βγήκε σε 5.441 κομμάτια το 2003 ήταν πολύ συμπαθητικό. Ήθελα και εγώ να το αγοράσω για ένα συγγενικό μου παιδάκι. Δυστυχώς στην Ελλάδα ήρθε μόνο ένα ή δύο και αυτό κάποια χρόνια μετά.

Ευτυχώς στις δημοπρασίες πουλιέται πολύ φθηνότερα από την αρχική του τιμή. Κάποια στιγμή θα το αγοράσω.

ενα Glycine Airman vintage.αλλα γιατι ?ολα εχουν μια λογικη ποιοι ηταν οι αστροναυτες?πιλοτοι της αμερικανικης πολεμικης αεροποριας.οι αμερικανοι στον πολεμο του Vietnam φορεσαν και το μοντελο της φωτογραφιας,ετσι κατα το περασμα τους στην διαστημικη εποχη,διατηρησαν πολλα απο τα παλια ρολογια τους σαν "backup"

Αν και πολύ πρόσφατα αγόρασα ένα TISSOT SEASTAR ,κάτι δε με αφήνει και όλο γύρω απο το OMEGA MOONWATCH 3570 γυρίζει το μυαλό μου. Απο πλευράς εκπτώσεων,γνωρίζουμε κάποιο κατάστημα στην Αθήνα που θα βοηθούσε οικονομικά την κατάσταση; Δε θέλω να στραφώ στη λύση του μεταχειρισμένου και όπως είπα,ήδη αγόρασα ένα. Αν θεωρηθεί διαφήμιση,παρακαλώ απαντήστε μου με πμ.

Launched in 1957 by Omega, the Moonwatch is a type of Omega Speedmaster watch which was selected by the NASA for the Project Apollo. As such, they became the first watches worn on the moon, gaining the nickname.

The Speedmaster passed NASA's numerous torture tests, which included exposure to extreme temperatures, vacuum, intense humidity, corrosion, shock, acceleration, pressure, vibration and noise [1], whereas the Rolex, Breitling, Bulova, Longines, TAG Heuer etc. all failed.

Dear Mr xy

We thank you for your message.

In reply to your question, we inform that your watch is water-resistant to a depth of 30 meters, which makes it suitable, as mentionned in our operating instructions, for swimming and showering.However, the push buttons must never be activated under the water! After swimming (but not diving) in salt water, the watch should be rinsed with tepid water.

As a general information, all the Omega watches are perfectly water-resistant when leaving the factory and will stay so providing the crown and the seals remain intact.
In fact, the water-resistance is not an invariable built in system, but depends entirely on the good condition of the above mentioned parts. As these are liable to wear and tear, depending on the condition under which the watch is worn, we suggest in our operating instructions booklet that you have the water-resistance checked once a year, preferably before the swimming season.

We hope the above is satisfactory.

Από αυτά που κατάλαβα (george_ help!!) το Ω του White ήταν το πρώτο ρολόι που βγήκε έξω από διαστημόπλοιο το 1965 ;

Actually, Omega has had a close relationship with space exploration for several tens of years. As early as in 1962, in Sigma VII of NASA, a spaceman had worn an Omega Speedmaster bought by himself when he was on the mission

ετσι λοιπον το speedy ,μαζεψε τα μπογαλακια  του και πηγε ζουγκλα!ναι ναι!δεν κανω πλακα!
