http://www.candino.ch/wide/english/collections/info.htmlSurface treatment is a key step in watchmaking. To coat or cover surfaces, especially by gold-plating, watchmakers
were for a long time entirely dependent on the electrolysis method. Today, on the other hand, an almost
unlimited range of techniques is available. The leading technology for this purpose is PVD – Physical Vapour
Deposition.
PVD coating guarantees extremely hard surfaces and therefore protects all the components of the watch case,
crown, bracelet or clasp. The surface hardness of a PVD coating is many times that of steel and therefore greatly
superior to traditional methods, especially in terms of durability.
