"In 1961 Vulcain watch came out with their diver, a fantastic watch with alarm and dive table. In June of that year Hannes Keller made a world record dive of 222 meters with a Vulcain Nautical on his wrist. In 1969 they released their second edition, the forefather of this watch now with round case. Up to 1961 they produced their cricket alarm watches in every possible designs. A wristwatch with alarm and the exactomatic, a special shock absorber that was patented by Vulcain. This little device absorbed shocks and brought the balance back to work quicker than anything else before and still today. Vulcain took every competitor to court in the 1950's 60's and 70's that only remotely tried to copy the design of this special jewel invented by Robert Ditisheim. This took a great toll on the company and they did not survive the quartz crisis. Revue Thommen purchased the rights to the cricket movement and they relased the famous Revue Thommen Cricket Nautical new edition in 1991, completly different watch, but still with alarm and 200m waterproof. This watch was powered by the AS 1930 movement, a cheaper version, completly different movement without the exactomatic, but still a very well built watch that I love and collect.
Revue Thommen themselves went bankrupt a few years later and only a couple of years ago Vulcain watch purchased the rights back for their watches and movements. Now we have the new Crickets and Cricket Nauticals. Very high end watches with many different designs".
Εντυπωσιακό.
