Two years ago, on the 80th Anniversary of the Atmos, the Australian designer Marc Newson had carte blanche to redesign the famous pendulum carved into an ice cube pure and contemporary curves.
This year, the artist has reiterated its collaboration with Jaeger-LeCoultre. Sensitive to the magic of the complex mechanisms watchmakers chose give a new face to gauge 566 which marked the best hours of Atmos Astronomique in 2008. The result is magnificent: the Atmos 566 by Marc Newson's Baccarat crystal makes his second skin. Two versions: one blue in limited edition to 28 pieces and the other translucent with 48 pieces, exalt the encounter between contemporary art and craft, between art and aesthetics.
The generously proportioned cabinet opens to light without restraint, revealing the complicated mechanism. The hours and minutes rub shoulders with the sky of the northern hemisphere, its cardinal points and their astrological signs. At six months times are displayed on a rotating disk, and the equation of time. Fascinating in many ways, this piece contains the absolute infinite, transcending time and space. Focuses on its savoir-faire bubble manufacturing Jaeger-LeCoultre and Baccarat, the modern breath of a renowned designer, the sophistication of a mechanism that provides its complications from an infinitesimal energy ... as rare as a precious alchemy, which stands at the same time to Atmos 566 by Marc Newson as a classic of modern life as a rare object to collect.

meaning that it’s powered by minuscule changes in temperature, which could mean that it could run for a very long time on basically nothing but air and at least 1 degree of temperature change (Celsius) every 2 days.

Γενικώς αυτά τα Atmos είναι πανέμορφα!
Να πω την αλήθεια μου βέβαια τα προηγούμενα, που κινούνταν σε μια πιο κλασσική γραμμή, μ'αρέσανε περισσότερο.
Και αυτό βέβαια σκέτο κόσμημα είναι!!!

αν δεν διαβαζα την παρουσιαση και εβλεπα μονο τις φωτο θα ελεγα οτι ειναι ρολογια "τοιχου" δεκαετιας 70

εμενα μου μοιαζει σαν .... ζυγαριά !! και θυμηθηκα οτι πρεπει να αδυνατισω .... :D Οχι ειναι πολυ περιεργο αλλα και ομορφο. Δεν εχω ξαναδει τετοια ζυγαρια τι ειναι ηλεκτρονική ? :dielaughing:
