This genuine CWC automatic divers watch has been made to exacting M.O.D specs but with the added date function. The non-date version was issue for approximately a year and superceded the Rolex Submariner Auto in the early 80's. It was then superceded by the RN Quartz divers watch which is still current issue.

For over thirty years now CWC [Cabot Co Ltd, London] has been and still are the supplier of British military issue watches
To me the beauty of the CWC RN divers, which incidentally was produced to the UK MOD specification, and not an ‘off the shelf divers watch’ as were both the Rolex Submariner, and Omega 300, is that the spec requires the watch to be dependable and rugged under extreme conditions, in effect a tool and not a piece of jewellery.
Just got the CWC SBS Royal Navy Diver PVD Black a couple of weeks back from Silverman's & I love it. Not sure about the origins of the case but its one heckuva watch - first class all the way - nice fit and finish - hated the nato so I purchased two Zulu's (black low lite hardware and olive green) 2 ring - sits and fits awesome on the wrist. Def. a keeper and probably will order another one in the near future - just cause I like it that much.
CWC = Swiss made; Swiss Movement, MOD specifications
